Your domain name is more than just a web address. It's a key part of your brand identity, your email address, and your SEO strategy. Choosing the wrong domain name — or registering it with the wrong provider — can create problems that follow your business for years.

Here's a practical guide to choosing the right domain name for your Nigerian business.

1. Choose Something Memorable and Short

The best domain names are short, easy to spell, and easy to say out loud. When you give someone your website address over the phone or on a business card, they should be able to type it correctly on the first try.

• Aim for under 15 characters (not counting the extension)
• Avoid numbers and hyphens — they cause confusion ("was that a 5 or the word five?")
